Preschoolers' health
The preschooler's immune system is just forming - he learns to deal with viruses, bacteria and parasites. It is like an army of unskilled young recruits - they cannot recognize the enemy and deal with him. A child up to six years old may catch a cold even 9-10 times a year, also in spring and summer, without having any immunodeficiency. Parents should give children the option of getting natural antibodies to work, and not prescribe antibiotics or other medications for colds that have a significant impact on the child's body. Children's health is shaped by a long-term process.
Immunity begins in the stomach, and more precisely in the intestines, where there is an army of lymphocytes and good bacteria ready to defend the body.
The correct bacterial flora helps maintain good immunity. Let's focus on seasonal vegetables and fruits, let's not forget about kefir, yogurt, as well as fish and products rich in omega-3 fatty acids. A balanced diet in cooperation with conscious tempering of our children will help strengthen immunity. Certainly you can't keep the youngest at home, and don't let people go outside when it rains or blows. It is also better not to overheat the child - putting on several layers of clothes when the temperature is positive outside. On a daily basis, it is also worth remembering to ventilate the rooms, as well as, and basically - to leave time to be a child, carefree play with peers, use of those few years of innocence. As you can see, children's health depends greatly on nutrition and appropriate habits.
Sleep affects children's health
Sleep also plays a key role in building adequate immunity. Preschooler should sleep about 11-12 hours a day, then the body is able to regenerate, and the child full of energy can develop properly and explore the world. Education is also important - you should learn hygiene rules, instill in your child the habit of washing hands as often as possible. Let us not be paranoid. Common sense above all!
Poor immunity in children - 6 reasons
Is your child sick again? Do you have the impression that his peers are healthier? Check out the causes of poor immunity and what you can do to strengthen your child's immune system.
1. Diet
Although in a study carried out by one of the manufacturers of preparations that strengthen immunity, 54% of parents of children aged 3 to 7 years old take care of their health by serving them properly balanced meals, still many people make nutritional mistakes. Often, these neglects result from the lack of parents time and the desire for comfort. Therefore, children eat highly processed products, deprived of important vitamins and minerals, and are frequent guests of places where "fast food" products are served. School children are often given money for breakfast, which is then spent on sweet rolls or chips. Children "don't like" vegetables and fruits because they don't really know them. All this has no positive effect on the body's defense mechanisms, which makes it susceptible not only to seasonal infections, but also, for example, to infectious and parasitic diseases that a child can get infected by being with peers.
2. Lifestyle
The current tendency to isolate children and lock them in homes in front of computer and television screens is not conducive to the creation of immune antibodies. Interaction with peers allows for the exchange of microorganisms and building immunity on this basis. Children who are transported to all classes spend time only with their loved ones and do not train their immune system, which makes them more exposed to various types of infections.
3. Lack of physical activity
The results of a survey conducted using a WHO-approved questionnaire showed that 60% of junior high school students spend many hours at the computer every day, and only 9% go to training, and 16% play recreational sports. More and more children do not attend physical education classes, hiding behind sick leave. This condition is often applauded by parents who believe that their child "should not be tired". They also often do not have time to spend time actively with children. Meanwhile, physical activity is necessary for our immune system, allows us to get rid of toxins and strengthens endurance. That is why children who lead only a sedentary lifestyle are more exposed to infections and more difficult to pass through.
4. Excessive antibiotic therapy
Nowadays, triumphs are celebrated by the treatment of all, even less dangerous diseases with antibiotics. In some cases, such action makes sense and leads to getting rid of the health problem. However, there are many situations in which potent drugs can further impair the already weakened childhood immune response. In addition, the antibiotic can not only eliminate microorganisms, but also lead to the death of beneficial bacteria in the large intestine responsible for maintaining its proper microflora. Abandoned places can easily colonize Candida fungi, whose hyphae along with the bloodstream can get to other organs of the body and cause even more serious ailments. Therefore, it is always worth considering the need for antibiotic therapy in the treatment of both children and adults.
5. Psychological factors
The issue of home and the environment in which it resides is also of great importance for the proper development of the immune system in a child. Arguments between parents, a sense of loneliness and rejection, a lack of sense of security - all this can have a negative impact on the level of immunity. Studies show a close relationship between long-term stress and a decrease in the body's ability to effectively repel microbial attacks and dangerous bacteria. So making sure that your child feels wanted and loved is also making sure that he bravely deals with his illness.
6. Mushrooms, parasites and toxins
Weakened by antibiotics and lack of physical activity, the child's body may not cope with the neutralization of health threats. A diet rich in sugars is also an ideal breeding ground for fungi, parasites and toxins. They can contribute to the development of serious illnesses and permanently impair the immune system. That is why it is worth checking whether these harmful substances are the cause of weakness and constant infections. The Body Load Test comes in handy, which, thanks to its wide diagnostic capabilities, allows you to determine the degree of stress on your child's body and to learn about how internal organs function. Thanks to this, it is possible to choose an individual treatment that will strengthen the immune system and help fight infection more easily.
Do you know why your child should not eat sweets?
A candy bar, chocolate or piece of cake looks harmless, but they can contribute to serious health problems.
1. Sweets are fattening!
Each of us has probably heard this sentence many times before. However, growing statistics on obesity and overweight indicate that we are not very diligent in following the recommendations of experts. In Europe, obesity epidemics have been talked about for a long time. This is clearly confirmed by WHO statistics: approx. 20 percent small Europeans are overweight and a third are obese. In Poland, research on obesity and overweight in children was carried out by the Institute "Memorial - Children's Health Center". The collected data shows that in the age group of 7 - 18 years, the percentage of children with excessive body weight is 20 percent.
2. Sweets are associated with many serious diseases!
Giving children sweets and not developing healthy eating habits in them is a simple way to develop in them various types of diseases that can occur both in the early and adult lives. Obesity can lead to many complications such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension or coronary artery disease and significantly reduce the chances of reaching old age. The UK Ministry of Health estimates that if current adverse dietary trends persist, then by 2050 men's average life will decrease by 5 years! The effects are already visible: doctors have been diagnosing diseases in children that were once "reserved" for adults for several years. These include fatty liver, sleep apnea, joint and bone development disorders. Therefore, more and more obese generations are growing, which is even more worrying that if children born with the obesity gene also start to gain weight alarmingly, the risk of their premature death due to obesity-related complications may increase by up to 80%!
3. Appetite for sweets can mean psychological problems!
A child who knows the taste of sweets, like an adult, can identify reaching for a candy bar or a sweet roll with a feeling of pleasure and a decrease in nervous tension. Creating a habit of snacking on sweets as a way to deal with problems is, despite appearances, very easy. The more load and stress (at home, at school) a child feels, the more sweet calming agents may need. That is why good contact with the child, knowledge about his successes and failures, are important to prevent the development of addiction to sweets.
Studies show that obese children are a common object of mockery and aggression from peers, which results in their low self-esteem already. Another child's reaction to the bitter remarks of the environment is to close yourself, build a sense of helplessness and inertia, which can lead to serious mental disorders. According to research carried out by the Institute of Mother and Child, 66 percent overweight and obese children have experienced harassment and ridicule of their body weight by both peers and adults. Conflicts and lack of acceptance from others can follow an obese young man for many years - the IMiD research quoted earlier showed that ¼ obese teenagers are dissatisfied with life, ⅓ have low self-esteem.
4. A diet full of sweets is an ideal breeding ground for mushrooms and parasites.
It is no accident that people with excessive kilos are often diagnosed with mycoses or the presence of parasites. Candida and various types of parasitic organisms need sugars to survive and reproduce. They have it in the large intestine in abundance in people who consume it in excess (in this case, children - lovers of sweets). Deposition of sugar can lead to the transformation of harmless yeast into their aggressive, pathogenic form, which, together with blood, can get into various organs and initiate the formation of serious diseases.
Parasites also like sugars, which is why they multiply easily in a child's body, which consumes a lot of sweets. It is worth considering especially in the context of preventing and combating parasites popular in children, such as pinworms.
Everything indicates that the child's appetite for sweets should be an alarm signal for parents. The constant need to eat something sweet can mean a serious medical and psychological problem. However, to implement effective countermeasures, it is necessary to determine what underlies the child's eating choices. This is where the Body Stress Test comes in handy, which, thanks to its wide diagnostic capabilities, allows you to determine the degree of burden on the body (fungi, parasites and toxins) and how internal organs function. Making a full diagnosis allows you to choose an individual treatment that will help your child maintain a healthy body weight and strengthen the strength of his body.
